About Us

Philip’s practice focuses on corporate/commercial matters, construction law and employment and human resources issues (including workers’ compensation, human rights and occupational health and safety).

Philip began his legal career in private practice assisting employers with workplace and human resources issues.  He broadened his legal knowledge and expertise working as General Counsel for a national construction company. In this role, he provided advice and guidance on construction matters, contractual disputes, employment issues and corporate governance.  He has negotiated multi-million dollar design-build, lump-sum, unit price and guaranteed maximum price contracts for major infrastructure projects across Canada. He also worked at a national law firm in Ottawa, a labour and employment boutique in Toronto and at one of Hamilton’s largest law firms.  Philip also brings experience and perspective to his practice garnered from a prior career as a Policy Analyst with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.

Philip is involved with the Prince Edward County Chamber of Commerce and is currently the President of the Board of Directors.  In his spare time, Philip can be found at his son’s hockey and soccer games, watching his daughter compete in horse shows, or riding his motorcycle around the picturesque County roads.
